(Originally) a local subspecies of a widespread European burnet moth, Zygaena viciae ytenensis, formerly found in the New Forest but extinct since the 1920s; (now also) any subspecies of Z. viciae, especially Z. viciae argyllensis, found only at one locality in Argyll, Scotland.
